My immediate reaction was slugs, which is probably irrational, but I'm going with it. If one was actually shoved in my face it wouldn't be as bad as, say, a shark, but they just really bang on my amygdala and my revulsion center.

I remember in elementary school I went to a day camp in a redwood forest that was crawling with the things (specifically the banana variety) and a running joke was kissing them and one of the frequent songs was a love song to banana slugs. Yeah, I didn't really like that camp. They might keep the forest running, but keep them the hell away from me. I'm such a stereotypical girl.

Ugh, now I remember there was one set of lyrics that ran "Some people say that he's [the banana slug's] gross/But I don't hear that jive." I heard it, loud and clear.

Hi, you don't know me, but I was browsing around after I read your The Iron Throne is for Dorne filk :D. The word slugs reminded my of my irrational fear of slugs. I was on a vacation in Vienna and we had to walk on a path, literally covered in hundreds of snails. Ick ick ick, even though I totally loath looking at slugs or snails, I had to keep my eyes on the path because stepping on one would be utterly gross (It happened though :().
