Got bitten by the Fallout bug and spent the last week playing New Vegas; beat it last night with the Wild Card ending. Didn't do nearly everything I could've but I've told myself not to stress it. I think it's the hunger for Optimum Performance that tends to bog me down with RPGs.

My Courier, like the Toreador I played in VtM: Bloodlines, is a fast-talking gunslinger - with the addition of a love of tinkering and SCIENCE (unlike Felix the Toreador, who could only pass himself off as a superhacker because I looked up the passwords on GameFAQs). Primary companions were ED-E, Arcade and then Veronica. Power armor party at the Hoover Dam! He'd have joined the Followers of the Apocalypse if he could have.

Currently resisting the urge to write a ridiculously Mary Sue-ish postgame fic in which my Courier helps out the beleaguered Followers with whipping up "stimpaks out of barrel cacti" (or rather, Broc Flower and Xander Root, easy-peasy!), goes about setting up a fledgling democratic government for the free state of New Vegas, and warns the Brotherhood of Steel that while unlike Mr. House or the NCR he doesn't see a reason to slaughter them wholesale, if certain members keep stalking Veronica and murdering other groups she tries to join he will End Them. Also, he makes out with Arcade in the Presidential Suite (there was a wonderfully coincidental ingame moment where I had him drop into his bed there for a catnap and when he woke up Arcade was sitting on it, wish I had a screencap).

Also, I loaded an earlier save so I could play through part of the Legion quest after spending most of my time up to then cheerfully sabotaging them, and had a hilarious time imagining the Courier sheepishly explaining to Caesar that um yeah, I did that and that and also that... sorry?
