Neil Gaiman came to my college last night; there were free tickets for students and I snagged one. 'Twas awesome, aside from the long wait for the book-signing (seriously, I could've nipped out and done my laundry in the meantime) which I think of as practice for tomorrow's airplaning. Through perseverance and trading books with someone for a while and rereading Preludes and Nocturnes over someone else's shoulder (with her permission) for another while, I toughed it out and got my old paperback of American Gods signed. It was the only one I had with me on campus, which works out since I suppose it means I like it the best.

I repeat, awesome.

I agree with you, that is indeed awesome and makes it even more special a book you like was signed. I would just want to be in his presence hoping he radiates ideas. I typically haven't been in love with Gaiman's stuff, I love his imagery but not his story style. I wouldn't mind meeting him though and it sounds like you had an awesome opportunity.

Definitely. I guess the waiting was also more time to absorb the ambient inspiration. ;)

And yeah, I like a lot of his stuff, and I was into The Sandman for a couple years before American Gods, but it was the first one I actually spent money on. Mmm, divine drama.
