The job hunt commences!
Wednesday, 25 May 2011 04:49 pmAfter initial forays into nearby openings for my so-called Dream Jobs proved thin on the ground (except for companies that were denounced as scams some Googling later) I've looked into the minimum-wage stuff at establishments in walking distance. Turned in three applications so far, and the manager at one place let me know that my high school-endorsed summer job eyeballing the Hometown Buffet salad bar remains relevant after all, at least in the absence of anything else.
I hope it won't be too much of a kerfuffle if they ever find out that, according to my high school-era resume, the stint was a year later and a month shorter than I recalled while filling it out on the spot.
And hey, the very same Hometown Buffet is hiring again, it's only a bus ride away, and this time I'm old enough, if not necessarily wise enough, to be considered for kitchen duty. Trying not to get too eager about it, but all-you-can-eat employee discounts! Mom would go spare.
