So does "his take" include changing their favored weapon? Last I read Hoar's favorite weapon is not battle-ax, but the javelin/spear (can't quite remember). Hoar of the Three Thunders, and all that.
So it is. I think part of the rationalization is that he changed over the Spellplague (in canon as in campaigning, it may be the godly version of changing over the summer) as was the case with a bunch of other gods in this guy's campaign, and the whole thing seems to be pretty canon-flexible overall. He did get into a bit of a tiff upthread over his creative reinterpretation of Lathander and Chauntea.
Though really. Pyramid Head. Granted, I imagine Hoar looking more like Captain Hook (it must be those ringlets), so I don't have a lot of room to laugh, but...
