I woke up this morning to discover that because a pipe broke in one building there is now no water on campus. All right, there's a trickle from a few sinks, but it's invariably cold, and none of the toilets flush. I don't want to think about what they'll be like at the end of the day unless everyone makes excursions to Chick-Fil-A or something.
Since I don't want to find out, let's see if I pass out from dehydration before they find the damn pipe.
And I thought it was bad last semester when the fire alarm went off in the middle of a rainstorm, thus forcing us out into it, because the de-flooding machinery in the basement started smoking.
Though it doesn't quite yet measure up to the time sophomore year when the tornado alert was going off and there wasn't anywhere "safe" in my dorm because the first floor was the clinic and they locked us out because they didn't want to risk us getting into the drugs. So they marched us over to another building. While there was a distinct possibility of an approaching tornado. Goddamn, if it had caught up with us I'd have liked to take the meager pleasure beyond the grave of seeing the class-action lawsuit.
Sometimes I think I should've gone to Beloit or Knox and taken my chances with the snowstorms.
ETA: The water for the dorm came back on a while after I tried to go to bed. After some fluctuations with the heating system, it seems cleared up now (hopefully).
